I need community support for $MAIN (+1.4%) .

A solid monthly payer that also pays out a special dividend 4 times a year. However, I am now up 27.5% in terms of performance and 37.73% in terms of return. Should I continue to hold and take the monthly dividend? Or sell everything (can still be balanced with a loss).

Why does anyone here want to sell good stocks on a regular basis?
How about an SL? Then reinvest the dividends in a savings plan and enjoy the profits

@AlterMann Thank you. Just a thought and wanted to gather opinions.

@AlterMann Presumably because many are not familiar with stop-loss or trailing stop-loss transactions or because their brokers do not offer them. :)

@AlterMann Limit profits, let losses run. Uhhh or something

@FairValue also such a successful strategy

@Staatsmann Stop loss is indeed offered but must be renewed every 30 days. Trailling does not exist.

@M1099 yes, i also had to learn that with dividend stocks the SL flies out with every dividend 😒 that should be changed. Maybe that's only the case with TR?

The chart is beautiful and the dividend is great, there are no reasons to sell at the moment. I myself will take Main as a savings plan next year ;)

@Investfamily Thank you. You're right about that.

@Finanzaristokrat I sold my AT&T stock today with a 20% profit to reduce my loss pot, I don't see much potential there. Maybe you have other cucumbers in your portfolio to reduce your pot?

@Investfamily I still have a few swing trades $BP. $RIO $SHEL $ING but they are not yet in the target zone.

Hold on and take the dividend with you.

I don't understand why people are buying the company? Over 7% dividend and debt not particularly low, can someone explain to me what makes the company so special?

@Georgi98 The use of borrowed capital is not a red flag per se and is an integral part of BDC's business.
The company's equity ratio and earnings performance are stable.
Not a price rocket, but fundamentally a solid company.

Just find out about BDC companies.
They are not production companies :)
