I have sold my Shell shares, for me it's a pipe-dream. Zero performance. If I put the cash value into an ETF, I make more profit than with the dividends, which can change anyway or disappear completely at any time

Unfortunately, many people ignore the opportunity costs that arise with shares such as Shell or, preferably, BP. What is the point of 5% dividends on my invested € 1,500.00 if the share price loses 20% and then stagnates and at the same time a world ETF makes 30%? Especially as the dividend is reinvested directly in the loser :)
