getquin Daily Summary 27.07.2022

Hello getquin,

it's on to the next round of earning calls. Today we have Boeing and T-Mobile US.

In addition, it is about Credit Suisse and the Fed!

Europe🌍:

1. Credit Suisse appoints new CEO

Credit Suisse Group (CSGN.S) has named wealth management chief Ulrich Koerner as its new CEO. He is expected to scale back investment banking and cut costs by more than $1 billion to help the bank recover from a series of scandals and losses.

The Swiss bank described 2022 as a "transition year" with a changing of the guard, a restructuring aimed at curbing risk-taking in investment banking and a ramping up of asset management.

America🌏:

2nd Fed to raise key interest rate further

To combat high inflation, the U.S. Federal Reserve will raise its key interest rate for the second time to an exceptionally high level. The Federal Reserve (Fed) will publish its decision on the future direction of its monetary policy on Wednesday (20:00 CEST). It is expected that the key interest rates will rise again by 0.75 percentage points to a range of 2.25 to 2.5 percent. It was only in June that the Fed raised the key interest rate by 0.75 percentage points. The rate hike was the largest since 1994, more than 30 years ago. The Fed typically prefers to raise the federal funds rate in 0.25 percentage point increments.
