Volkswagen
$VOW (-0.03%) has asked its employees to 10 % of their salary.

The company explains that this is the only way to safeguard jobs and remain competitive at a time when profits have fallen to their lowest level in three years and union leaders are threatening strike action.

The Management Board and all managers should give up 15-20% of their salary. Then maybe the employees will follow suit with a few points. But just demanding it is once again a cheek.

Funny. Volkswagen has also asked its supply chain to cut prices by 10%, stating that this is the only way to safeguard jobs and remain competitive. The magic 10.

Do you think that a huge automobile company like VW can go bankrupt? When the diesel scandal broke, they were also on the verge of bankruptcy and could only be saved thanks to the German government. Under Olaf Scholz that will probably not happen this time.

I worked at Mercedes on the assembly line for 7 years. My earnings were very good thanks to rotating shifts, but I wouldn't do this job for 10% less.

I'm glad I left the automotive industry.
