Hello everyone,

I am a 19-year-old student and am currently faced with the decision of how to build up my investment portfolio.

Since I have a long-term investment horizon and am willing to take some risk, I am considering whether it makes sense to invest all my capital in the Nasdaq 100
$XNAS (+1.77%) or the S&P 500 $VUAG (+0.99%) to invest.

On the other hand, I am also attracted by the idea of investing in a broadly diversified way (i.e. a typical 70/30 portfolio) in order to spread risks better.

My plan would be to switch to dividend ETFs in a few years to build up passive income. Or should I simply invest directly in the $VWRL (+1.32%) invest directly?

What do you think? Is it better to focus on one index like the Nasdaq 100 or S&P 500, or does a broader diversification make more sense in my case?

Looking forward to your opinions and experiences!

"in your case"...what is your case? In the end, you have to find your own way. There is no right or wrong, better or worse...no one will tell you what the future holds. You may get recommendations based on the last few years...but will this also apply for another 30 years?
How high do you want to set your risk? You have to decide that for yourself - these are your profits, but also your losses!

I have supplemented the $VWRL 60% with 20% each $TDIV and $FGEQ.
As soon as the saver's lump sum is covered by dividends, I will decide whether to keep it that way or switch to 100% $VWRL.

Of course, you have to decide for yourself what is "right" for you.

It doesn't really matter. Personally, I find the distributing S&p500 the best, because it is cheap and diversified enough. I would only combine the Nasdaq100 with a World Etf (FTSI World, MSCI World, MSCI Quality World or MSCI Momentum).

Diversification doesn't have to mean covering all the crap. My ETF savings plan mix also contains 60% USA, 15% Europe, 15% Japan and 10% gold. I mainly focus on tech and security. This is my strategy, everyone should find their own, where they feel most comfortable. The important thing is to start!

If I were to start again, I would consider this:
