The Bundesverband der Börsenvereine an deutschen Hochschulen e.V. (Federal Association of Stock Exchange Associations at German Universities) is again offering the well-known and free Stock Exchange Guide(1) this year.

It presents those interested in the stock market with an insight into the world of the capital markets and thus makes an important contribution to promoting the subject of financial education. For all graduates it is the foundation for a deeper understanding to dive into the complex matter of the capital markets.

Stock Exchange, Capital Market and Trading Historical beginnings of the stock exchange and organizational form today; historical crashes, speculative exaggerations and their parallels to the financial crisis, price formation on the securities markets.

Shares, bonds and funds What are the different types of shares? Pensions, obligations and risks; What makes bonds? How do they work? How do they differ? Different types of funds, ratings, fees and actual returns.

Options and certificates What are options? How do derivatives work? Differences, leverage and volatility; structure of certificates, opportunities and risks.

Investment philosophies and stock market psychology Technical analysis, fundamental analysis; value investing and company valuation; psychological pitfalls and rational trading.

𝐖𝐢𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐟 ?

All lectures and the Q & A will take place on BVH's YouTube channel, you will receive the link to it by email on the day of the first lecture series.

You will also receive the handout on the topic. If you want to be well prepared, take a quick look beforehand.

Since all lectures are livestreams, they will not be saved, so get chips and cold drinks beforehand.

Questions about the current topic can be asked via the chat. Either these will be answered directly by the lead explainer in the chat, or if it is a high quality question on the topic, it will be forwarded to the moderator and worked on more intensively.

Still helpful to know: To be immune to surprises, I would like to briefly note that EVERYONE has access to the live chat, EVEN various bots named Uschi and Erna👯‍♀️, which could come to "disturbances" 🤪 for some participants.

The Q & A will take place a few days after the last segment. Still open questions can be submitted by email to the moderator, and will be addressed again. The chat will be down that night, so any questions that want to be answered will need to be submitted via email. Depending on the number of these, the livestream may take longer. However, this part will be saved, so there is a possibility to replay.

𝐖𝐢𝐞 𝐥ä𝐮𝐟𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐏𝐫ü𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛 ?

To take the exam, you will get the credentials right the day after the Q & A. You create a guest account at BVH and you can take the exam there. You don't have to show up for the exam in your fur, nor in your ironed Hawaiian shirt, because the exam will also be held online.

You now have exactly 1 week to take the exam.

IMPORTANT:

Once the exam is started, the time runs ...⏳

So you don't get into sweat 😅 you have for 40 questions, 30 minutes time, multiple choice with 4 answer options of which 1 is correct. The questions are not asked according to the order of the segments, but motley.

If you think you can ask Google, you can, but the time is so short that you might not have enough time to answer all the questions.

The structure of the questions and answers ranges from E for simple to K for complicated. You have to read carefully, because some of the answers are tricky.

24/40 (60%) correctly answered questions are enough to pass the exam, and you will receive the certificate of the stock market license afterwards for download. You will get the achieved score from the exam in any case, even if you are not a member or did not reach the minimum number of points.

The certificate is free of charge for BVH members. Non-members can download the certificate for 20 Euronen 💸 or still decide to become a member, then it would be free.

Should you have your personal Armageddon after the exam, and do not pass😭, do not worry, because the FSO is repeated every 6 months.

𝐕𝐨𝐦 𝐁ö𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐟ü𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐡 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐭 ?

This will be followed by a "How To Pitch" (2). There you will be taught presentation skills how to do a stock pitch and what to look for. Here you also need to register, which should be done in connection with the registration for the BFS.

The BFS and "How To Pitch" is part of the Certified Finance Student (CFS(3)), after successful examination of both, you have already reached the bronze status. To make the whole thing complete, there is also the CFS Silver and CFS Gold to complete, at which point the highest level of CFS is reached.

In addition, the certificate of completion is a nice addition to your application documents if you want to start a professional career in the world of finance.

𝐌𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐭:

First and foremost, the name "stock market driving license" triggered deja vu for me, as it made me think directly of the bicycle driving license from elementary school😊

Crash helmet on, start up, swing through the pylons once swinging and bang, passed!!!!

But then it was not so easy....

The pressed flood of information caused a slight brainfogg not only with me, but also with my "Head of Trouble", who decided very spontaneously to participate with me. The handouts already give a good impression of the topics covered, although there was even more input apart from these.

100 minutes per topic is definitely not much, and is therefore only enough to go through the topics briefly & crisply. The material is clearly conveyed to you through Power Point slides, without making it complicated. Despite the flood of info, it felt right and important without being overwhelming.

Would I recommend it to others?

YES DEFINITELY Whether young or old, man, woman, divers or what ever, everyone who starts to deal with the stock market jungle should do it. As I find, a sustainable foundation where it can be built and for free.
