Onvista Bank and thus also the broker cease operations.

The Commerzbank ($CBK (-2.97%) ) subsidiary intends to cease business operations.

New customers have not been accepted for a while and existing customers have to find a new broker for the transfer.

(Incidentally, if you want to join the parent company, you have to open a new securities account).

Some Onvista users I know have already started switching, even if it is already time.

Flatex tends to be quite high up in the rankings, rather than the classic new brokers.

As far as I know, they are trying to bring people to comdirect (which makes sense).

@KevinC Of course it makes sense.
It allows you to bundle capital, reduce costs and expand your market power.

But from this point of view, there is no simple switch. You still have to open a custody account and transfer your custody account.
The people at Smartbroker were a bit smarter in this respect and set everything up with a simple click.

@Staatsmann yes, that would be cleverer 😀

I once had a securities account with Onvista for a short time. The service was horrible and didn't work properly either. The problem was probably in front of the computer ;-)
