@User03 Jerome Powell must testify before the House and Senate committees to "report to the legislators" and also answer questions. This is an important and prescribed part of the democratic system in the USA and is simply intended to ensure transparency in central banking in the USA.

The statements are intended to provide the Senate with information about the Fed's monetary policy and decisions. Especially in relation to economic issues such as inflation and regulations. The statements basically enable legislators to better understand the Fed's objectives and measures and, if necessary, make recommendations or suggestions for future measures.
