Perhaps a somewhat stupid question, but is it still worth investing in gold, certainly in the long term, but now that Trump has become president, does it make sense to invest?

@samer777 What does Trump have to do with gold?

@samer777 Gold is there to secure your wealth in the long term.
What else do you want to do with gold?
@Roman_moed It strengthens the US economy, causing the US dollar to appreciate. Gold sometimes moves against the dollar, crisis dollar falls gold rises and vice versa. It already has a point Gold is depreciating slightly at the moment. However, there is a global shortage that will continue for the next 5-7 years. Many emerging markets are buying gold as a safe haven, as are private investors. In the long term, gold can only rise; the question is whether equities will not rise much more and people will leave money lying around.

@Maximilian01 probably stocks will outperform gold for sure, but there is no tax on gains from precious metals which is a big point imo .
