I bought 2 new assets last week (Pokemon booster and a card)

The booster is from 1999 and the card is from 2006.

The trick with such investments is to eventually find someone even more stupid who will buy the unproductive stuff from you at an even higher price.
Good luck with that! 🚀

I have a lot of Pokémon cards myself, especially very valuable ones. I have also sent them all in to PSA. They are all between PSA 9 and 10

If I look at the card in the picture, it's a 5, so you've definitely not created a valuable investment.

The next point is that the card is in German. My collections are all in English and Japanese. German cards will only reach the value.

Let's take the new set 151. I drew Charizard 199 twice in English. Both sent to PSA and one got a 9 and one got a 10. I sold the 9 for 175€ and the 10 is now in my collection. This card is worth over 400€.

Nevertheless, you always need hype to increase the value. This is triggered by the YouTube bubble or a set like 151. The values will now fall again for the time being, as the 151 hype is slowly dying down.

So this is simply a hobby and not an investment. My collection is worth 5 figures, but nobody would pay me the money for it now. So the value is only ever what someone else is prepared to pay. Just like on the stock market.

And whether someone will buy a PSA 5 card is questionable.

I myself collect items in the five-digit range and the value development is simply extremely good

I also have plenty in my own bed box. 👌🏻
Not just an investment in the long term, but more importantly, it's a little piece of childhood that you keep 😉

My brother-in-law has actually registered a business in Austria for trading in such cards. It actually works.

I'm actually in the process of buying the complete Lord of the Rings magic the gathering set. I'm still missing 5 cards. Then I'll put the folder to one side and not think about it for the next 20 years. But I don't really see it as an investment, more as fun collecting.

It's the thought behind it that counts, don't be discouraged, good luck with your investment 👍
