Virgin Galactic stock takes off! Richard Branson and his space company have announced plans to launch commercial flight operations into space this month. The first flight, called "Galactic 01," is scheduled for late June and will be a research mission with members of the Italian Air Force. Then, starting in early August, it will be the turn of "private astronauts" to be able to fly into space. And the coolest thing: Virgin Galactic plans to offer monthly commercial flights into space!

Virgin Galactic has been selling tickets for space since February 2022. The pleasure costs a whopping $450,000 (the equivalent of about €400,000) per person for a one-and-a-half-hour tour that includes weightlessness. You'll have to dig a little deeper into your pocket, but if you've always dreamed of flying into space, it might be worth it.

After the news of $SPCE the share price rose by a whopping 16.5%. Investors seem to have confidence in Branson's mission.

What's your take on flying commercially into space? I think it's pretty cool, but I could never afford a ticket for 400k.

It remains a niche - for starters, for the rich. I myself as a space aficionado have only some play money in it. But I'll keep watching, and see what the future brings. With Blue Origin and Space X, there are two heavyweight competitors in the space, all of which have not yet quite shaken up which focus they want to place - travel, space cargo or NASA 2.0.

Very cool idea in my opinion. How quickly something can go wrong with the kind of rather special 'trips' has shown this week with the Titanic expedition but also. Therefore, for me also rather (yet) no investment case.
