Here in Swabia only own house counts .... For me as a newcomer very strange .... But of course ... Is also easy when the property is for generations in family ownership and the entire village helps in the construction :)

@Gally these are also almost the requirements that are currently needed so that this can be financially managed, right?

@Gally this is always such a horror scenario for me. An acquaintance (fortunately not a close friend) bought an ancient house years ago. They are still renovating and every weekend friends are there to help. Believe when they are through with the renovation, they can start all over again. It's like the Cologne Cathedral ... I really wouldn't like that. Neither as a friend, nor as an owner.

@GoDividend if you don't earn very well or make a lot of cutbacks, yes, definitely

@DonkeyInvestor Even if you earn well, you would have absolutely no chance here in the area.

@DonkeyInvestor well you can also do it differently 10 to 15 years nix renovated and then I have only done everything so I save me from the beginning to start again

@INOT Nevertheless, in 10-15 years you will need the money to renovate. That has to come from somewhere.
