That's why I only drive older used cars. When it comes to the subject of cars, many suddenly forget how calculation works. It counts only one thing in the end and that's ct/km And even if a repair is more expensive than the car still has value, it's almost always worth it. Because for residual value + repair effort is rarely found what better without hidden defects. And even if at 1,000 € residual value times 2,000 € must be put in. I bought a 2005 Zafira Diesel at the end of 2016 for 3,000€ with about 220,000km. I am despite 3 repairs in the area of "economic total loss" at 16ct / kilometer including all costs. So also incl Diesel. Just under 400.000km now. And 16ct/km all in is really good. And I would still get 3.000€ for. Regular service and maintenance is the key. And not only when the TÜV says it..... And do not be afraid to spend money on repairs. With old cars you have hardly any loss of value and thus a really huge imaginary buffer from which you can draw. Many are subject to the error "The car is already old that is no longer worth it" In the financial long term view in certainly 80-90% of cases a mistake

•@Johannes198 interesting line of thought, I had never thought about it before and fix times calculated: Am with fuel, maintenance and purchase price currently at 75 ct / km
