Read a book first before you put any money into it.

As far as I know, ETFs do not have dividends, but income from the securities they hold, which is either distributed (= what is presumably referred to here as a dividend) or reinvested. For ETFs, it is usually the day before the distribution on which I have to hold the shares. In my opinion, there is not such an extreme difference between record day and ex-day as with some US shares. This is also in line with the historical values of this ETF here, the record date is always one day before the ex-date.

Why is it important to keep them all for 2024? The dividend is deducted from the share price anyway. So if you get in on the last possible day, your share will be worth just as much less the next day as what you were paid. So it makes no difference at all whether you buy in the day before or the day after

Does withholding tax apply to this ETF for German investors?
