Many people are unsure about #dividends #etfs uncertain. Should you invest in a dividend fund such as the $ZPRG (+0.23%) because it guarantees steady payouts throughout the year and it feels good to receive a payout every few months? Or would it perhaps be better to stay away from it, for example during the savings phase, because the growth and return opportunities are simply not attractive enough? There are many different opinions - that much is clear.

One example shows that #dividends #etfs have a significantly lower performance than #thesaurating #etfs

Not such a new insight and yet there is always controversy.

Anyone who invests €10,000 on 11.06.2023 both in the $ZPRG (+0.23%) and in parallel in the $IWDA (+0.23%) and on 11.06.2024, you will look around and realize how "weak" the dividend ETF has performed (in comparison).

A look at the (bare) figures will help to make a classification:

Price gain:

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 573,91€

$IWDA (+0.23%) 2.285,50€

Share price growth:

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 5,72%

$IWDA (+0.23%) 22,79%

Dividends:

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 430,47€

$IWDA (+0.23%) 0€

Total profit:

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 1.004,37€

$IWDA (+0.23%) 2.285,50€

Final capital

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 11.004,37€

$IWDA (+0.23%) 12.285,50€

Total return

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 10,04%

$IWDA (+0.23%) 22,85%

Total growth:

$ZPRG (+0.23%) 10,01%

$IWDA (+0.23%) 22,79%

If the dividends were reinvested directly after payment, the total growth of the $ZPRG (+0.23%) would be 10.35%.

But you are already aware that you are comparing apples with oranges. If you were, then you would have to have a core MSCI World accumulator with distributors vergleichen🙅🏽‍♂️
I hope that the rest of your investment decisions are not based on similar comparisons 🫣

🍏🍐The largest items alone are different and therefore not comparable

My brief opinion on this:
It's not an either or but rather a how can you add a dividend ETF to a "normal ETF". And you have to consider more than a 1-year period. What about any 1/3/5/10 year periods? What is the volatility? How are the ETFs composed etc.? Am I in wealth accumulation or just wealth preservation?
