Huawei is now saying goodbye to Android and wants to switch completely to its own OS.
The in-house OS "OpenHarmony" is to form the basis.
This would further divide the Android mobile OS market and presumably make it more difficult for app developers to optimize their own apps for other OSs.
The many Android versions and, above all, "modifications" of Android by the various smartphone manufacturers are already quite a horror...
If the OS has too little market coverage, it also becomes unattractive for companies to develop an app specifically for it.
What do you think of this move?
The fragmentation of the Android market in particular could $AAPL help to secure further market share.
If there is no app coverage for Harmony, it will also hurt Huawei.
