Are there actually people here who have a bank training have completed?

I would be interested to know whether and in which area you are employed.

And if not: What were your motivations?

For me it's quite simple: I was was I was employed at a savings bank and "had" to sell products that I myself did not consider good (e.g. Deka funds, building society contracts). After a year, I didn't want to do that anymore....

Without being from this industry, building savings contracts once had their raison d'être and enabled me and my sister to buy our first car. 😉 I don't think they make much sense at the moment.

I find banks to be a place where problems are solved inefficiently, where they are not sufficiently digitized, or where they help people who have absolutely no idea about finance. Neither of these would be a bad thing if the banks didn't pay themselves so handsomely. That's why I will always look for the cheapest provider and switch directly if the prices are increased. I'm not sure that's why I would start an apprenticeship in a bank today as a teenager. I think the business will change massively when only digital natives want online banks and a large part is digital. Financial IT training would be more interesting.

@Boersenbeginner I am also a trained banker, I am still satisfied with the training itself, because you actually learn a lot about finance, investments, etc.... But I'm no longer in sales, so I don't have to impose any products 😂👏

Can absolutely understand your decision!

I'm currently training to be a bank clerk at a savings bank, and I think it's actually good so far. I offer our customers our products with a clear conscience, whether it's a home savings contract or a fixed-interest bond.
