In order to use the whole here times for something meaningful apart from the stock exchange:
There is currently a citizens' initiative that wants to ban shark finning. Citizen Initiative > Petition because a BI MUST be responded to. Petitions can be ignored skillfully. So if the votes are full the EU must react and if they reject it I'm curious about the reason :D
Shark finning is the cutting and selling of shark fins. With dead sharks as well as much too often with living ones.
Procedure: Shark is caught - fins cut off - back into the water - shark can no longer swim - shark sinks to the bottom - shark can not swim so also no longer breathe - shark dies in agony without possibilities. Is like the human arms and legs tear off and lie to leave + a sting in the lungs to accelerate the whole.
Sounds absolutely brutal? It is. In the end, the fins end up in Asia and become decoration or in most cases shark fin soup... which has no effect, is expensive and also toxic (mercury).
