---Political pawn TSMC---

TSMC is a very exciting company that is said to even have a technological edge over the competition.

Nevertheless, or mainly because of that, they are in the focus of the great powers China and the USA.

"...Dazu Taiwan is also the world's most important chip manufacturer. The company Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Inc. (TSM) is the technological bellwether of the chip industry. TSMC is the world's largest independent contract manufacturer of semiconductor products with a significant technology advantage over its downstream competitors." [1]

If the West were to adopt sanctions similar to those against Russia in the future, China could well consider seizing TSMC. Given the importance of chips, that would be powerful leverage. Both the US and Europe have recognized the importance of domestic chip production. TSMC is thus already planning with 6 production sites in the USA. Europe passed a European Chip Act in February. The future will show whether all of this will come in time.

A decisive competitive advantage of TSMC is also extremely exciting:

"TSMC is the largest chip manufacturer for so-called fabless companies. The word stands for companies that do not have their own or do not have sufficient production capacities for chip manufacturing. Such as Apple, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Marvell or Broadcom. This makes TSMC the key player in the chip industry. And chips are the cog in the modern gears of the global economy." [1]

A possible conflict between the U.S. and China is of course hypothetical but quite real. TSMC would certainly be at the center of it.

Market Situation:

In the medium term, I definitely see correction potential in the sector, regardless of the political situation. Thus, we could move from excess demand to excess supply in the next few years. The future will tell.

I am invested precisely because TSMC is so sought-after and important for the world. For me, the USA is the world's number 1 power and is currently getting stronger and stronger. Taiwan's defense is at the top of their priority list and from a return point of view, it can't be wrong if the U.S. is my interest teilen🤷‍♂️😂 Moreover, TSMC is the clear leader in terms of technology and resources in one of the most important areas of humanity😎.

It should be said that they produce the latest chips with 3 nanometers in Taiwan and are technologically ahead. Besides the political risks and possible overdemand, TSMC is a very important and strong company with a strong market position and pretty good balance sheet.

Thanks those for the really good post, TSMC is a very good company with a lot of potential regardless of the China/Taiwan conflict, on my shopping list.

Due to the military importance of chip production in Taiwan, I think an invasion is very unlikely (because China must expect that the U.S. will intervene if the worst comes to the worst and there will be a world war). Due to the geographical location, an invasion is also extremely difficult and Taiwan is also well prepared. In the event that it actually comes to that, all indices will first see limit downs anyway and Apple/AMD& co will halve. I personally do not invest in TSMC because I see better semi stocks in AMD/ASML (especially in terms of capital intensity).

Along with ASML, one of the key companies in the value chain of the semiconductor industry. Nvidia, AMD, Qualcomm, etc. are to a frightening extent

Reliant on the company. However, not an investment for me due to the political situation.

Basically an exciting company. I think there's still a rocket to come. Boom in consumption, technology, e-mobility (significantly more demand than for the burner). Everywhere you need chipsets and more and more of them. The only drawback - this is a financial product. As a direct share definitely yes 👍 - as ADR no...
