@Seebi Well, you could actually buy the place now. How bad can the news get? Sorry...

@Seebi once pharma is priced in, buy more normally - prices will go up again sooner or later anyway

@Seebi They will certainly find reasons like Trump said. Production costs Employee costs. New drug = new research costs

@Seebi "Your end of the world" will not be able to survive.
If the slimming product is no longer profitable or works, then something else will come along...a chip shop cannot easily mutate into a 5-star restaurant, there is simply not enough money.
Novo, for example, has more than enough to change many things in the company.
It can sell lobster on a golden plate instead of bratwurst without any worries.

@Seebi If all this is based on the foundation, then there is a greater probability that the company will not sink into a black hole.
Nobody can say what will happen tomorrow, we are talking about probabilities and in this case they are on the side of the company. Your view is also based on a crystal ball, just because Trump decides something doesn't mean anything.
A chip shop has to close down if 5 customers don't pay for their currywurst, that's what I mean by foundation.
Don't take it personally, but I still like you😘😆

@Seebi novo has so much money and obesity is one of the most widespread diseases i don't know what you do for research but in my opinion it will go up steeply. Trump will push prices down, which will bring uncertainty at first, but the usa is not alone in the world - prices will go up sooner or later. Health is one of the biggest growth sectors

I already feel sorry for everyone who bought Novo... Do you think this will affect the whole market or just the pharmaceutical industry?

@BavarianLion Just think about the pharmaceutical industry because in itself it's a good thing and not a bad thing, just not for the pharmaceutical companies because they will make less profit as a result

@BavarianLion Why suffering? Nothing is in the bag yet. It should be clear that the entire industry sticks together in such cases. Such a powerful lever is difficult to pull, there are too many contacts at the highest levels of politics. Stay relaxed even if it hurts visually for the time being. The Trump effect is known to be only temporary, comparable to a bricklayer laying bricks without cement ;).

@Mark777 When you get right down to it, for once it's one thing Trump is right about, because drug prices in America are really outrageous! But of course the pharmaceutical industry will not put up with this without resistance 😉

@Seebi Then show us the mathematical black hole that triggers the SOS signal that we should definitely have sold yesterday. Not just in terms of momentum, of course.

@BavarianLion Yes, that's true, but how often in the past has it been possible to completely change direction in this area?

@Mark777 That's what I mean! Trump's approach is actually positive for the American people, but the pharmaceutical industry is a powerful lobby, so even Trump can't easily counter it...

Oh no, apparently the unrestrained market economy is not working in the USA.

But Trump will hardly be able to push it through.

But it is good news for health insurance companies, for example, or infrastructure providers in the healthcare sector.

If less has to be spent on pharmaceuticals, more people will seek treatment. Health insurance companies increase their margins.

And if it gets too expensive for non-US companies, they will stop delivering. $ROGN like $NOVN produce unique drugs, so there is already a lot of leverage ;-) Or does Trump prefer to let the citizens die and suffer? I don't think so.

@GeldGenie that's not how it works. Read up on how indian court passed a ruling against European pharma firms who were charging high prices for their drugs. That essentially paved way for generic drugs manufacturers which now have grown leaps and bounds.

A single executive order from Trump can make way for generic drugs in US too.
‱‱

@JaqenH Ashish, this comparison doesn’t hold up. The U.S. can’t just override pharma patents via executive order — patent law and TRIPS agreements prevent that. India’s case was a legal ruling within a very different legal system and mostly applies to basic generics, not complex biologics like those from $ROGN or $NOVN.

Most of their drugs are patent-protected and can’t simply be copied. Plus, excluding such meds would hurt millions of U.S. patients and trigger international trade disputes. It’s not politically or economically feasible long term.

But then again: The Execs won’t escalate as long as it doesn’t hurt them too much.

But you also have to say that in Germany we have the third or fourth most expensive healthcare system in the world, but in terms of healthcare provision we are more in 16th place or so. I no longer have the exact ranking in my head.

One of the biggest problems is the high cost of medicines in Germany, where drugs are much cheaper in comparison. Common medicines in the Netherlands alone are much cheaper than in Germany.

If ozempic and wegovy become cheaper, $NOVO B novo will have to expand its capacities 😅😂 as a rule, there is more to be gained from the masses than if the target group is "only" the elite, right?

Executive order to fix prices. This is pure planned economy and, in my opinion, will not (or cannot) last.

Thinking further, Mr. Trump could otherwise set prices for all goods and services by decree. Petrol, furniture, cars, machines, food, toothpaste. This is such outrageous nonsense that it just hurts.

It is up to the companies alone to set the prices. Even if there is a decree that is in force (temporarily if necessary), I don't think there is any court that can order a company to carry out an economic transaction (sale of goods/drugs) that it doesn't want to carry out. Simply put, pharmaceutical companies may decide to stop selling certain drugs directly in the US. Patients would then have to buy and pay for the required medicines privately via an importer. Health insurance will then not reimburse them. Good for the insurance company - hopefully patients with chronic illnesses will have deep pockets.

What does that even mean? How can he set prices?
‱‱

@SemiGrowth I think he will pass a law that prescribes the maximum prices for medicines! I can't explain it any other way đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«
