BYD - How to add the bonus and capitalization shares manually

Dear Community,

After providing you with all the information on the stock split at $1211 (-4,92%) I am now sharing with you a way to correctly display your securities account at #getquin correctly until your broker has added the bonus and capitalization shares on 29.07.2025.

To do this, proceed as follows:

Go to the portfolio of $1211 (-4,92%) BYD
Now select "New transaction"

For the type of transaction, select "Rewards" and under "Add security" $1211 (-4,92%) BYD

Next, enter the number of bonus and capitalization shares you will receive. For every 10 shares, you get 20 additional shares! In my case, I owned 30 shares before the split, so add 60 shares (3x8 bonus shares + 3x12 capitalization shares).
For the purchase price you enter 14,88€ enter. This is the split purchase price per share that I calculated at the time of the split. However, as I am unsure about this, please feel free to correct me at this point!

Edit: Thanks to @market_mastermind_2049
and @SAUgut77 for the addition: Set the purchase price for the bonus shares to €0.01 so that the price +/- is correct! The €14.88 only applies to the capitalization shares.

Finally, click on "Add transaction" and the additional shares will be added.

Ps: If you synchronize manually with your broker, the manually added shares may be removed again!

This approach works wonderfully for me. Please let me know if it works for you too! :)

📅 Key date

➤ June 10, 2025

🔹Only those who on this date $1211 (-4,92%) -shares in the securities account on this date will participate in the distribution.

🎁 Bonus shares (one-off)

➤ 8 bonus shares for every 10 shares held

🔹 Subject to tax - are considered a dividend in kind

🔹 Credit is made automatically by the broker

📈 Capitalization shares

➤ 12 capitalization shares for every 10 shares held

🔹 Not subject to taxas capital increase from company funds

💵 Cash dividend

➤ RBM 39.74 (approx. EUR 4.86) per 10 shares

🔹 Payment is expected to be made on August 06, 2025

🔹 Not subject to taxas it comes from the substance of the company (as is also the case with the $DTE (-3,42%) is the case)

🧾 Important: Whole 10-unit denomination required!

➤ Distribution (bonus, capitalization, dividend) only for full multiples of 10 shares

➤ Individual shares or odd numbers of shares go away empty-handed - these lose relative value

➤ Accordingly, always round up to a multiple of 10 round up or down!

🔹 The price is adjusted after the distribution adjusted (dilution)

🏦 Settlement

➤ The entire settlement takes place automatically via your broker

I don't think so. Bought today and already paid the new price. If I could still get something now, it would be a great performance 😂. But let's wait and see what happens in the meantime until the systems are stable again.

It is quite confusing. I have BY6 shares in DEGIRO and Trade Republic, both show different stock opening value. Which one should I use? DEGIRO shows already the bonus share at 14,9167€ while TR only gives infor about 3:1 at the end of July

So only 8 would be missing, but I'm not sure about the prices right now...

@DiviMike as I said, I already got 12 automatically set up by Getquin this morning via split and now I have booked the other 8 with 0.01...should therefore be almost correct and I will reconcile the rest later with the data from my broker.

@DiviMike perhaps you should change this again in your post, as only the bonus shares (8) with 0.01 were entered manually. In other words, the capital shares (12) have already been added and calculated automatically by Getquin.

Otherwise the prices are not correct front and back 😉

@opportunity_scout_1672 It does work, but then it shows a return of -100% (at least for me). This is probably somehow related to a division by zero with getquin. But you can take 0.00001, for example, then the error is negligible.

Thanks for the excellent explanation. getquin has also already calculated the split for me. Only the bonus shares were missing. I have now added them after your explanation. Does that mean I have to delete the manually added transaction at the end of July when my broker has entered it?

@Lukas_da_oben Leave it as it is for now and check the data with your broker...you can always change a date.

And I would book the bonus shares at 0.01 for the time being, otherwise the prices will not be correct.

Hmm, I had 20 shares before the split, now getquin has turned them into 44. That would probably be the 12 capitalization shares each. But it's strange, because I enter everything manually. Do I then only have to add the bonus shares?

Although I have to say in the case of the contra-split of $ATO for me it made a big mess, showing a huge loss on my account. I could only adjust manually here. Wish I ever had 1M € at some point hahaha

Now to the point of what happens if I had less than 10 shares. I now understand from your explanations that I am out of luck regarding any bonus shares correct?

Nevertheless, I should now have 3x as many shares after the split because the price has tripled, right?

It can't be that I'm simply unlucky and €300 becomes €100, can it?

When should it be displayed correctly again and or can I add it somehow?

That doesn't work for me. Firstly, getquin has turned 10 shares into 22 for me (logically the 12 shares). I want to add the 8 bonus shares using your method. That does not work in the end I have around 39 shares 9 too many. Do you know why? Thank you

Hmm, I had 12 shares, now getquin has turned them into 26.4 shares?! That would correspond to the ratio of 22:10, but I had understood that this only applies per 10 shares. So it should be 24 without bonus? I've got my head screwed on straight. By the way, Finanzen.net has turned the 12 shares into 36. Hmm...

Very good post, thanks for sharing and very good idea 👍. You may have to book the bonus shares on 11.06.25, i.e. 1 day later, otherwise they will appear in the 2025 dividend. Or am I seeing this wrong?
