ETF in focus: Xtrackers MSCI World Small Cap 1D (DBX0WH)

Today I would like to introduce you to a fairly new ETF IE000ISS8DB2 (-0,21%)that has been available since August 2025: the Xtrackers MSCI World Small Cap UCITS ETF 1D (ISIN IE000ISS8DB2, WKN DBX0WH, ticker XSWD).

🔸 Objective: To track the MSCI World Small Cap Index - i.e. global small caps from developed markets.

🔸 Costs: approx. 0.25 % p.a.

🔸 Appropriation of earnings: Distribution (dividends are received)

🔸 Current status: since launch, the performance (total return) is around +6.44%

My assessment:

For investors with a long-term horizon and a higher risk appetite, the ETF is an exciting addition to classic large-cap funds or as an admixture to the classic 70/30 portfolio. Especially if you are already heavily invested in the large-cap sector, this ETF can be a useful addition to your portfolio.

⚠️ As the fund is very new, statements on stability and long-term performance should (still) be treated with caution. But it is worth keeping an eye on!

cool, so far there is only the $WSCD as a distributing Small CAP, but it has a TER of 0.45. so this is probably a good alternative.

@Karsten_ The Xtrackers here is actually a distributing variant. But it is of course true that you can see the rough return of the index. How this ETF in particular performs compared to the index remains to be seen.

I use individual ETFs for the USA, Europe and emerging markets.

I prefer it that way and I can manage it more specifically. I deliberately decided against a World SC.

@Bidax is also an approach that is naturally more flexible. Wouldn't be for me personally. Personally, I like the "simplicity" of MSCI world MSCI EM and MSCI SC better. If I were to break each down into regions, it would end up being too complex/expensive for me.
But in the end, everyone has to know for themselves how they want to do it.
