CACI as protector of the oil companies

It is foreseeable that the Trump administration cannot justify placing soldiers in Venezuela to renew the oil infrastructure without heavy political losses.

by US corporations, so private security companies such as $CACI (-0,41%) or $BAH (+0,09%) will take over this task.

The Trump administration is preparing to use private military contractors to protect oil and energy assets in Venezuela rather than deploying US troops, according to two sources familiar with the plans, setting up a potential boon for security firms with experience in the region and ties to the administration.

I think this is unrealistic, Venezuela is three times the size of Germany and is riddled with militias and other autonomous groups.
To protect an oil infrastructure with kilometers of pipelines in such an area with private companies to cover costs is not feasible or at least not economical.

This is yet another typical Trump "brain fart"!

@TotallyLost In the end, it doesn't matter if it works, he will try it and the companies will get paid

@Shrimpman Who says it will be tried?
Just because Trump says something doesn't mean it will happen.
Or maybe it will and then they'll row back again. 😅

@TotallyLost because there is no other way, he has already invested too much to demolish now, but he can't ask the military to do it without consequences. Even if the government does not do it itself, the companies will do it (as in any other risk area). It simply creates a "new market" for the security companies
