Hello, a topic I notice isn't discussed much around here is about bond ETFs, and I wanted to ask about the following option that seems interesting to me $VDUC (+0,59%) .

How do you see it as a complement to a stock portfolio?

Which do you prefer, corporate bonds or government bonds?๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

If you want to buy a bond from a company, because you believe it has a nice interest payment for 5-10 years and you believe that the company will be able to pay the premiums and return your money after 5-10 years, then why do you not invest into the stock of the company instead. So for company bonds, I'm not in, I am in the stocks themselves.
For government bonds, why would you risk to lose value in a fund or etf because of the fear of other investors. This means, when investors of the fund run and sell their etf-stocks, the funds needs to liquidate bonds that are undervalued, and you subsequently loses money. If you hold the bond yourself, you don't care about short term fluctuations, you only care about the premiums and the final repayment of the initial amount. So you just hold and normally don't lose money. So for investing into government bonds, I do it myself and not via a fund / etf.
