First dividend from the lottery win

First of all, no, I haven't hit the jackpot yet. I'll be happy to tell you later how I would distribute the money if I did ;)

There are also small prizes if you only get a few numbers right and you have to get rid of these prizes somehow (sensibly). Since January, I've been playing one pick in every draw, so about €10 per month. Since then, I've won around €40. I've decided to invest the winnings in DHL shares. My grandmother, with whom I play the lottery together, used to work there, so the investment is more personal and symbolic for me, before anyone starts arguing whether DHL is really the best share on the market. The dividends will first be reinvested to benefit from compound interest. Later, I would like to use the dividends to pay for lottery tickets. That closes the circle again :)

Do you also have shares in your portfolio that have more of a symbolic meaning for you?

60 euros invested, 40 euros won is, in my world, a loss of 20 euros and not a profit of 40 euros.

@Tuffbet for me, the €10 per month is for entertainment because i enjoy playing the lottery with my grandma. i don't expect to win a certain amount. so i've already thought about the money anyway, so it's like "winnings" that i can use freely. besides, the statistics are very poorly founded for the period under consideration. according to them, i would have above-average luck. the profit is set at 50% of the stake, so you expect to get exactly half of the stake back if you draw an infinite number of times. but if i get 2/3 back now, that's more. so in the long run, the balance sheet will probably look worse and the profit will be lower. but that's okay because i'm not a corporation :)

@ynnxs I've been playing a full ticket a month for a while now and get about 1/3 back. I also see it as entertainment and a donation with the thrill of hitting the jackpot. I still don't see it as a profit, but everyone has to decide for themselves ;)

@KonradM how did you get the share :)

@ynnxs On the one hand, I wanted to have an automobile stock in my portfolio, on the other hand because I'm a fan of the brand 😂 And despite the unnecessary behavior of the King of America, I'm still up with the stock. 😅 It's been more than that before, but oh well 😅

@KonradM i think it's because the king in america does a lot of crap that costs us a bit of money, but at the same time his best buddy does so much crap that his car brand isn't doing so well anymore :D

@Propofolio I actually had them on my watchlist before 😄

Not anymore, I held on to $ENPH for a long time because it was my first share ever and I experienced everything from +300% to -60% with it. However, it was finally removed from the portfolio recently because I am increasingly annoyed by the Americans and want to reflect this in my portfolio 🙃

@Haberlapp oh man, before it went so extremely downwards or only when the sideways movement started?
@ynnxs So with Nokia I'm almost 80% down...but they just made brilliant phones 🤣

@Haberlapp well, not every investment can increase tenfold, otherwise 7% p.a. would not be achievable 😂🙈

no. the only thing i care about is yield and alpha.
Why not put the money into shares right away?

@Isus01010 i've often been asked that question haha
i know that the money is better invested in shares than in the lottery if you assume average winnings. i do it more for entertainment because i have a personal connection to it through my grandma. for that i think 10€ per month is okay and the more you are happy when you win something. the jackpot is not excluded and if you hit it, the balance is very positive 🤣🙈
@ynnxs na dann toitoitoi 😅

Just stop playing the lottery and you'll probably get a lot further in building up your portfolio

@Dividendenflowmit60 as already mentioned here several times, it's a little "luxury" that i treat myself to because it's fun and i have the personal access to my granny. 10€ per month is not a huge amount either 😄

I don't smoke or drink, but I would like to share in the pleasures of the world's population in the long term and therefore invest in BAT, Altria, Pernod Richard and Diageo

@Dividendenflowmit60 that's what i once thought. globally, the number of smokers has been declining for years, which is why i'm not invested 😅
