🌏 Investing inspiration from Malaysia & Singapore 🇲🇾🇸🇬

I'm currently traveling in Southeast Asia - and what strikes me again:

👉 The best investment ideas are often right in front of you in your everyday life.

I have consciously paid attention to which companies I constantly come across here - and collected some exciting names:

🛒 Everyday life & consumption

7-Eleven ($3382) (-1,45%)- felt like it was on every corner

Heineken (Tiger Beer) ($HEIA) (-0,01%)- THE beer here

Magnum - extremely present with ice cream

🏦 Financial sector

OCBC ($O39) (+1,21%) - one of the big banks in Singapore

🚛 Industry

Isuzu ($7202 (+0,94%)) - an incredible number of trucks on the roads

And then of course:

Grab ($GRAB) (+2,63%) - you can hardly get around here without the app

💡 What I find exciting:

Many of these companies have strong local market positions that are often not even on the radar from Europe.

It's precisely observations like this that always give me new investment ideas - far removed from the classic US tech stocks.

❓ Now I would be interested:

Which stocks have particularly caught your eye while traveling - and have you perhaps even invested in them?

Good observation! But it was exactly the same 10 years ago. I also thought at the time that Grab should be added to the portfolio, etc.
But none of them can come close to keeping up with the market over a 10-year horizon.
So nice and good observation!
But no more than small additions to the global portfolio.
But important:
Keep your eyes open for these things! 👍🏼👍🏼

I say it again and again. I once had a professor who always said: "Invest in what people need every day" 😉

My approach would be to invest in a company such as Ahold Delhaize $AD that is represented in local markets (Indonesia with "Super Indo" and Malaysia with "TOPS" supermarkets).
The share price performance is good and you are still involved in the countries.

I'm also in Thailand at the moment and wanted to do a similar post.

$Y92 Thai Beverage is almost a must for dividend hunters. Over 5% divi with 50-50% payout is not bad. And the Thai withholding tax is fully creditable. Share has remained very stable over Corona and so on. In contrast to the West, the alcohol industry in Asia also has upside potential. And the Group also has other areas. Lots of non-alcoholic beverages, that's 20% of sales after all. And it is even a KFC franchisee in Thailand (7% of sales).

$3382 Seven & i Holdings.
The 7/11 parent company from Japan. Interesting because they are currently in the reorganization phase. Focus only on the main convenience stores. Massive share buybacks and global expansion. They also want to introduce the fully automated and lean Japanese system in the USA. Perhaps 7/11 USA will even be floated individually on the stock exchange, which would also be reflected in the share price or in special dividends.

$CPALL-F
The Thai franchisee of 7/11. Profits from rising tourism and consumption growth in Thailand. Very efficient company, but valued more expensively than the parent company.
