DIBS Bottleneck Stock #4: Frequency Electronics 🇺🇸

The next company in my investment universe that I currently like is Frequency Electronics
$FEIM (-7,05%). When people think of the defense sector, they usually think of drones, satellites, radar, or modern weapons systems. What’s discussed less often is how all these systems are actually are synchronized .

This is where time plays a greater role than one might assume at first glance. Satellites must determine their position with precision. Communication systems must send and receive data at exactly the right moment. Sensors must synchronize information correctly. Even the smallest deviations can compromise the quality of the entire system.

Frequency Electronics develops high-precision time and frequency systems for aerospace, communications, and defense applications. The company’s technology ensures that different systems can access the same time reference and work together reliably.

The more modern armed forces become , the more important this capability becomes. Sensors, communications platforms, satellites, and autonomous systems do not generate value in isolation, but rather through their interaction. To do so, they require a common temporal foundation.

That’s why I find the company interesting. Frequency Electronics doesn’t build visible end products. The company provides a technical capability that many other systems rely on.

For me, FEIM therefore belongs in the category of infrastructure providers. Not infrastructure made of concrete and steel, but infrastructure for precision, synchronization, and networking.

I assume that this need does not depend on individual programs. The increasing digitization and networking of modern defense systems is likely to keep this topic relevant for many years to come.

Frequency Electronics is therefore also part of my NextLimits wikifolio. There, I invest in companies that could benefit from future technological bottlenecks.
