CATL presents "Ship-Shore-Cloud" solution for electric ships

attachment

Contemporary Amperex Electric Vessel, a subsidiary of $3750 (+0,54%)officially unveiled the world's first and only "ship-to-shore cloud" solution for CO2-free shipping and integrated smart ports at Marintec China 2025.

The solution is designed to drive the electrification of ships.

Su Yiyi, General Manager of CATL Electric Vessel Department and Contemporary Amperex Electric Vessel, explained that previously the power supply, energy supply and maintenance services were provided by different providers. The resulting coordination problems and unclear responsibilities led to ongoing problems and inefficient operations throughout the 30-year life of the equipment. Added to this were high acquisition costs, inadequate energy supply infrastructure, range anxiety, complex water conditions, inconsistent technical standards and other systemic problems.

To address these challenges, CATL has launched the integrated "Ship-Shore-Cloud" solution, which is like a customized service for ship operations and enables full chain integration from the on-board network to the shore-based power supply network to cloud-based intelligent management.

On the ship side, it integrates battery systems, propulsion systems, intelligent navigation systems, etc. to ensure the stable and long-distance operation of ships. On land, it completely solves the problems of energy supply and cost through the charging and battery replacement network and the "separation of ship and battery" model. In the cloud, ships can be monitored, planned and optimized remotely thanks to the "Yunfan" intelligent management platform and the "Beichen" intelligent navigation system.

CATL has delivered almost 900 electric ships. Since entering the carbon-neutral water ecosystem, CAEV has achieved numerous industry firsts, including the world's largest all-electric domestic passenger ship Changjiangsanxia 1, China's first all-electric ocean passenger ship Yujian 77 classified by the China Classification Society (CCS), China's first hybrid tug Qinggang Tug 1, and China's first demonstration project of a battery exchange station for cargo ships with total delivery and independent operation, Jining 6006.

The company's battery systems, energy management systems and other hardware and software products have been certified by the world's five largest ship classification societies.

@jkb92 nene, I am now at approx. 37 EK and will definitely not stop here 👋🏻
@SAUgut777 yes, but unfortunately mine is at 57€. Now have 70 pieces. Position full for now.

@jkb92 now have 30 and are stocking up again at or around 50.

And the batteries are then changed in the port. This means that every port should have the batteries in stock.
Or what range do the batteries have?

@Tenbagger2024 It will probably be the same as with the SWAP station in China, which has already been expanded to 1000. Europe has also been announced in this plan.

I can't really report on the range yet, but as announced in the previous post, CATL assumes that every ship could have sufficient electric operation within 3 years.

A monopolist is growing here 🫣🤫😉
