$1211 (-2,27%) The Chinese e-car manufacturer BYD has to recall almost 89,000 vehicles and is facing possible US sanctions.
The Chinese market regulator confirmed that BYD is immediately recalling 88,981 vehicles. The popular plug-in hybrid models Qin PLUS DM-i, which were produced between January 2021 and September 2023, are affected.
The core problem lies in the manufacturing process of the battery modules. Production errors can lead to limited performance or, in extreme cases, total failure of the electric drive. This safety risk forces the company to carry out costly software updates and physical inspections of the battery systems.
