•@Solitair But rents have actually already gone up in my “Glasscherbenviertel” neighborhood, too. Fifteen years ago, there were still a lot of vacant units here, and in some cases, base rents as low as 4.50 euros for ground-floor apartments.

@NichtRelevant But you're really into Eisenbahnstraße—or at least the area—aren't you? 😅 Since your last project there didn't work out, you looked for something new in the area. I would've thought it would be cheaper, though. I'd rather stay in Markkleeberg and pay my €10 rent (excluding utilities) 😀

•@Keksbaer Existing rents in the neighborhood are certainly still lower for the most part. But we’re renting everything out anew after the renovation—at the moment, most of the units are vacant and the interiors are in disarray.

@NichtRelevant Yes, new construction and renovated apartments are also significantly more expensive. In Markkleeberg, some new construction units cost as much as 20€ in base rent 😅
