Do I understand correctly that you bought the stock only to receive one single dividend?

@DieEnte7 no, i bought Eni as a result of the war, the rising price of energy are supporting the oil&gas stocks so i wanted to make some % with them, we all know that the price are going up for the war and no one know how much can be longer, because when the war will end Brent/WTI prices will fall and with them all the oil&gas companies, so i decided to exit the stock after the dividend and take my 5-7% of "Easy" gain plus dividend in Just one week, so, the reason i bought Eni was not the dividend but the current situation, the dividend is just a point of reference, the point is to make a little insured gain.

@Kurama01 Alright. Makes a bit more sense that way, but generally speaking the single dividend does not really matter. There will likely be a price drop on the ex-day and overall you make neither loss nor profit out of it.

@DieEnte7 i know that but not always the price fall the same amount of dividends, in this case the global scenario make me think that will be a small increase of the value despite the dividend, but also if the decline will be the amount of dividend i'm +7% up in Just 1 week, i'm more than fine with it, anyway if today the price increase and make me a +10% i will sell

@Kurama01 scusa come calcoli questo + 7% ? Per capire il ragionamento , può darsi che il valore della azione non scenda nella giornata di stacco dell’ammontare esatto del dividendo ma durante la giornata recuperi un minimo , ma non potrai mai essere a +7% altrimenti tutti ci metterebbero sopra la casa 😁 io sto quasi a +65% con Eni … aspetto dividendo poi credo che una parte della posizione la vendo … mi pentirò … ma le ho in carico a 14€….

@Sidespin1976 non avevo visto la notifica, scusa, comunque il 7% era inteso come capital gain + dividend yield, quindi ricevendo un dividendo dell'1,5% mi servirebbe un capital gain del 5,5%, magari prendere un dividendo del 7% a botta. Ad esempio io visto il susseguirsi degli eventi geopolitici ho deciso di mantenere ancora la posizione su Eni che mi segna un quasi 9%, oltre al dividendo ricevuto che in base al mio prezzo di carico dovrebbe essere dell'1,26% tipo, quindi starei già oltre al 10% lordo realizzato in una decina di giorni, ovvio che finché non vendo è solo un numeretto sullo schermo ma seguendo gli avvenimenti recenti penso di mantenere l'investimento ancora per un po'. Per quanto riguarda la tua scelta non devi per nulla pentirtene, hai fatto il tuo gain e vendere non è mai sbagliato finché si è in positivo, è l'unico modo per dire che quei soldi li hai fatti per davvero, per il resto buona giornata e buon investimento!

@Kurama01 Eni sto a +73% oltre dividendi presi in quasi 2 anni … non riduco la posizione la lascio correre o scendere se vorrà e reincrememtero’ :))
