Portfolio Check - January 2025

Herewith I present my portfolio again. I am of course open to suggestions for improvement!

Briefly about me: I am 21 years old, still live with my parents and work as a system administrator.

I'm currently looking for a new car, so €20,000 of the €22,500 cash will probably disappear.

Due to the fact that I still live with my parents, my savings rate is around €1500. By saving for the new car, the savings installment that will be invested amounts to "only" €500.

350 per month currently goes into the savings plan $IWDA (-1,03%) and 150€ into the $AE5A (+0,29%)

In addition, "another" €60 goes into the building society savings contract, and €70 goes into the Riester pension on the $UIVD (+0%) I also have a BAV, here the savings rate is €40.

Now I had the following idea: Close the building society savings contract and invest in $BTC (+0,75%) and invest in the World ETF? What do you think of this suggestion?

I'm also currently undecided about what to do with the smaller positions >€500.

Thanks for reading and have a nice evening! :)

Why new cars? That's pure waste of money!
Counter-suggestion: Buy a used car for €8,000, invest another €2,000 in servicing/repairs and put the €10,000 you save into shares - you'll get more out of it in the long term. 🍾

@Dividenden-Penner think with the 20k he will get himself a young used car😉

It's always a question of whether you shouldn't buy something of higher quality (especially a car). (If you spend a lot of time in the car)

@Dividenden-Penner I don't read anything about new cars. He writes new vehicle. Ergo, it could also be used

@bullish999 Yes, it can be either the new luxury Dacia or Christian Lindner's used Porsche...
Let's rephrase the question: does a 21-year-old need a €20,000 car?

@Dividenden-Penner yes, if it is a passion and a hobby that he enjoys and enjoys or he needs it for professional reasons, for example

I'm 26 & also have a 30k vehicle. (young-used)
Costs me 0 repairs a year (due to factory warranty) and I also save more than 4k a year on electric.

Is it necessary? No?
But you can afford a little something.
Nevertheless, it's a sensible vehicle with one or two extras 😉

@Dividenden-Penner It won't actually be a new car, but a used vehicle!
Since I just love cars, it won't be a cheap one, I'm well aware of that.

Please check the building society first. If it has a low interest rate, I wouldn't cancel it. Unless you don't want to buy a property, then of course cancel it.

I would also close Riester.

You can take out a car, but check the car tax and car insurance before you do so. Also check the annual cost of servicing and whether you can afford it.
Otherwise, there's nothing to be said against it, because you shouldn't just save but also live 👍😊

Personally, I'd also ditch the UniImmo.

I would either increase the smaller positions in your portfolio or combine them in an etf.

You can add Bitcoin, but please note that it is currently high. There is no guarantee that it will continue to rise and crypto can quickly fall by 50% or more.

Otherwise, it's great that you're already investing!

I would personally dump $XRP, $CVS, $MPW and $INTC and indeed shift into $BTC instead via DCA.

Why so much in cash?

@value_seeker_311 Buying a new car, that’s the only reason. 😅

@Toname buying a NEW car? Have you done depreciation calculations for that brand and model? My preference is always second hand (3-4 years old with some 30-40k mileage). It's usually 40% cheaper and it is almost a new car. Talking from a Europe perspective, not sure where you are situated.
