I just Googled it and found out this: Donkeys shouldn't be fed carrots as part of their daily diet, but at most a tiny piece as a rare exception (no more than once a week).

"Why carrots are problematic for donkeys:

• High sugar content: Donkeys are adapted to barren desert and steppe landscapes. Their digestive system utilizes feed extremely efficiently and can barely tolerate sugar or starch.
• Risk of laminitis: Too much sugar can trigger severe inflammation of the hoof corium (laminitis), which can be life-threatening for donkeys.”

So I think that’s it for carrots for now—he’s already had a bunch and a single one, and that’s enough for the week.
