Embraer has received a firm order from SkyWest for 60 aircraft with purchase rights for an additional 50 jets. Delivery of the aircraft will begin in 2027. The list price of the firm order for 60 aircraft, which will be included in Embraer's order backlog for the second quarter, is USD 3.6 billion.
With a fleet of 263 aircraft and an order backlog of 16 jets, SkyWest Airlines is the world's largest owner and operator of E-Jets. This order further strengthens its position.
"As the world's largest E175 owner and operator, we are pleased to further expand our E175 fleet and strengthen our presence in both segments. This order will allow us to advance our long-term fleet strategy and continue to offer the industry-leading regional product," said Chip Childs, President and CEO of SkyWest.
"We are pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with SkyWest Airlines with this major order. The E175 is a cornerstone of regional aviation in North America, and this order reinforces SkyWest's confidence in the performance, reliability and passenger comfort of our aircraft. We look forward to supporting SkyWest's growth and success in the years to come," said Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Embraer and SkyWest have worked closely together for nearly 40 years. The collaboration began in 1986 when the US airline acquired five EMB-120 Brasilia aircraft. At the end of 1997, SkyWest celebrated its 25th anniversary and already operated over 40 EMB-120 aircraft. In 2013, the partnership was renewed with the purchase of 100 E175s. Today, SkyWest is the largest operator of the E260 with over 175 Embraer aircraft.
