Sunday:
The USA 🇺🇸 becomes Germany's most important trading partner shortly before Donald Trump's inauguration. Total trade rises to 255 billion euros. In 2022, China was still the most important trading partner by a wide margin with a trade volume of 300 billion euros.
Monday:
Germany ranks second to last in terms of location conditions. The task facing politicians could not be clearer. The focus should now be on making Germany more attractive again with better framework conditions. The IMF also lowered its economic forecast again on Friday. Denmark is in first place, followed by Sweden, Canada and the USA. Germany falls down the rankings, particularly in terms of its high inheritance tax. Sweden, for example, does not levy inheritance tax.
Producer prices in Germany rose moderately by 0.8% in December. Energy prices fell compared to the same month last year, while prices for capital and consumer goods rose. Producer prices are considered a leading indicator for the inflation rate.

$BAS (-1,75%) BASF publishes surprising business figures on Friday after trading hours. The Group reports lower EBIT than expected. Sales were in line with expectations and the cash flow of 700 million euros was twice as high as forecast.
