Hello everyone,

I would like to expand my Japan share.

For this purpose, I have considered the Mitsubishi share $8058 (-0,26%) into consideration. My question now is whether anyone is invested here or has had the share on their watchlist for some time?

Have a relaxing weekend🚀

I have a Japan Etf via Oskar that is enough for me as an admixture 😅 Mitsubishi is also included there

@Michael-official $8001 is also on my radar. I'm just not quite sure where they have their fingers in the pie yet.

Can you give me some sources for this? Then I would read up on it 👍

I bought them in spring 2023 together with $8001 and $8031. All solid bums as I like it, nice divi and share buybacks. However, the price gains for all of them were also due to higher valuations and $8058 in particular has the highest valuation, but also buys back shares extremely strongly.
Alternatives would be $8053 $8002 and if you are prepared to take more risk and your broker reaches as far as the Tokyo stock exchange, there are also $8098

Thanks for the info👍

Where can I find information about Itochu, I haven't really been able to read up on the company yet, I'd like to do that sometime

@xzxzx
Try their website. There is also one in German, as they are also represented in this country and at least have Investor Relations in English.
Otherwise, a brief summary from my brain: $8001 as well as $8058 and the other Sogo Shosha are middlemen for all kinds of things. Chemicals, raw materials, primary and end products. For example, they operate a lot of LNG tankers, which is why they had these massive jumps in profits in 2021/22. They also have pipelines, port terminals and all kinds of infrastructure that they build and operate in the emerging markets of Southeast Asia, for example. $8002 is the project manager for a wind farm in the Gulf States, for example. In addition, there are all kinds of (minority) shareholdings and subcontractors. $8001 and $8058 also have their own supermarket chains, among other things.

$8058 I haven't had it on my radar yet, but rather $HYUD and am considering investing there.

@KonradM the share has already performed very well this year. In addition, you can only trade the GdR bills at Trade, which is an exclusion criterion for me.

Mitsubishi is currently suffering a small setback, which I see as an opportunity. They have been able to agree new projects with Exxon and Petronas and are very broadly diversified anyway (which of course also entails a risk)

@xzxzx yes okay, if the invest in GdR is an exclusion, it sounds good as far as your decision is concerned.

I have had good experiences with $8058. I am also a fan of $6501 (hope that was the right ISIN). Otherwise there are various Japan ETFs

I have had them in my portfolio for over 2 years. I am currently buying small amounts every month via a savings plan. The purchase price is just under 9.xx euros. I hope it will be a stock for me for the next 15 years.

@Springroll I will also wait for the quarterly figures and possibly place a first tranche, then probably just let it run through the savings plan and fill it up. I probably won't get back to €9, but I am convinced that we will soon see the share back at €20-22.
