Intuitive Surgical Earnings Release:

Here's the hot stuff from Intuitive Surgical $ISRG (-0,96%)
(NASDAQ: ISRG) Q3 2026 Earnings Release, fresh off the US market close:

🚀 Top-line revenue at a record high

Intuitive Surgical once again posted strong growth in the third quarter of 2026:

  • Revenue:
    $3.05 billion → +21.5% YoY
    (Previous year: $2.51 billion)
  • Expectations were around $2.91 billion → ISRG significantly beat estimates by over $140 million.
  • Instruments & Accessories: The main driver of revenue thanks to extremely high surgery rates.

The key point: ISRG is not only growing through the sale of new robotic systems but is also massively boosting high-margin repeat business (consumables) through rising surgery rates in the installed base.

đź’° The cash flow machine continues to scale

The robotics pioneer is also delivering impressive results on the bottom line:

  • Non-GAAP EPS:
    $3.00 → +25.0% YoY
    (Previous year: $2.40)
  • Expected: $2.65 → A beat of a fantastic +0.35 USD per share!
  • Net Income (Non-GAAP):
    $1.05 billion
    (prior year: $867 million)
  • Gross Margin: Solid, in the range of ~68.5% – 69%.

And this is where things get really impressive: ISRG breaks the $3 billion in quarterly revenue and converts over 1 billion USD of that directly into net income.

🦾 Procedure Growth = The Real Powerhouse

The most important point in the entire report on MedTech stocks:

Global da Vinci procedure growth = +18% YoY.

This corresponds to:

  • A steady double-digit increase in the number of surgeries worldwide.
  • Ion System: Continues to be a major growth driver in the lung biopsy segment.

This is the metric I would monitor most closely at Intuitive Surgical—not just system sales.

As long as hospitals use the systems more intensively, high-margin cash flow from instruments and services will automatically follow.

🧨 And now for the forecast: Guidance Upgrade

ISRG is raising the bar for surgery volumes once again for the full year 2026:

  • Procedure growth for FY2026: Increased to approx. 14.0% – 15.0% (previously set at a noticeably more conservative level).
  • Gross Profit Margin: Expected to remain strong at 68.7% to 69.3%.

The market had previously expressed concerns about a slowdown in hospital investments—ISRG completely dispels these concerns with its financial results.

🧠 da Vinci 5 → The new hardware cycle is getting underway

What’s exciting isn’t just the current business:

The rollout of the new da Vinci 5 (dV5) is gaining momentum at a breakneck pace. The new-generation systems offer significantly higher computing power, AI-powered data analytics, and feedback sensors for surgeons.

This cements ISRG’s global dominance and ensures that existing hospitals quickly upgrade their old da Vinci Xi fleets.

⚠️ But a risk assessment remains essential

The company’s operating performance is excellent.

But that is precisely why the market is scrutinizing its valuation so closely:

  • Very high P/E ratio: ISRG has always traded at a massive quality premium (P/E ratio often >50).
  • China default risk: A continued subdued consumer and fiscal environment in Asia, as well as attempts by local competitors to challenge the company.
  • Budgetary pressure in the healthcare sector: General cost-cutting measures at U.S. hospitals could slow the initial adoption of systems.

⚡💡 The Bottom Line

Intuitive Surgical once again demonstrates who the undisputed king of robotic surgery is.

$3.05 billion in revenue. +21.5%.

$3.00 EPS (vs. $2.65 expected).

$1 billion net income in just one quarter.

18% growth in procedures.

Fundamentals: A top-notch earnings report. Competitive Advantage: Unassailable thanks to patents, software, and lock-in effects.Operating Leverage: Exemplary. Procedural Demand: No signs of weakness whatsoever. Rating: The only fly in the ointment.

Rating for the earnings report: 🟢🔥🔥🔥 “DOUBLE BEAT & PROCEDURE BOOST.”

We could also mention here the 450 million pre-tax burden related to an antitrust dispute stemming from a class-action lawsuit. ^^ Furthermore, the outlook was NOT raised, but merely confirmed. Nor is the company expecting to reach the upper end of the 14–15% range. So, despite all the excitement about the growth, let’s keep our feet on the ground^^

@Daffy The market seems to see things differently.

@jkb92 Nope. My post came out right when the market was first reacting to the earnings report, and that reaction was clearly negative.

I just want to put overly enthusiastic posts into perspective when information is clearly missing or even incorrect—so no one invests blindly. That’s the danger with these overly flattering AI posts. But sure, three days later, it’s easy to act like a know-it-all^^

By the way, I’m invested myself and believe in the company. But my motto is to keep a clear head and not put on rose-colored glasses.

@Daffy Yes, the initial market reaction does not necessarily have anything to do with market pricing.
••

@jkb92 There's no point in talking to you—you only read half of it anyway, and then you still think you know it all better.
••

@Daffy:) That's one way to make things easy on yourself. The market is always right, so it's a fact that the market apparently doesn't attach much importance to the problems you described. And it doesn't matter whether you say that 3 days or 10 days later.

@jkb92 Man, that’s not the point at all. It’s about your arrogant rambling. If the stock had dropped, you wouldn’t have even responded. You’re just trying to act like a know-it-all.

You’re completely ignoring the actual point of my comment, which is that the original post omitted facts and misrepresented information. That’s the problem—not that the stock is going to drop now. I never claimed that.

I even wrote that I’m invested myself, but you only read what suits your agenda instead of taking a minute to analyze what someone is trying to convey—so you can go back to acting like a smart aleck afterward.

Be careful when judging posts like this and do your own research—that’s all I said.

If that’s not your thing and you’d rather blindly believe every AI-generated post—“since the market is always right”—then go ahead. Feel free to jump on every bandwagon that comes along—it’s your money. ^^
