Energiekontor sells German wind farm project to several private investors

Bremen, June 24, 2025 - Energiekontor AG ("Energiekontor"; $EKT (+0,12%)), one of Germany's leading project developers and operators of wind and solar parks based in Bremen, has sold a German wind farm project to several private investors.

The onshore wind farm project sold is the Drensteinfurt-Rieth project in the district of Warendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. The buyers of the turnkey project are several private investors. The wind farm will have a total generation capacity of around 11 megawatts. Two Enercon E-160 EP5 wind turbines are planned for the site. The individual turbines each have a hub height of around 120 meters and a rotor diameter of 160 meters. The average annual yield of the wind farm is expected to be around 24 gigawatt hours from the first full year of operation - enough to supply more than 7,000 average households with renewable electricity and save more than 18,000 tons of CO2 per year. The project has been awarded an EEG surcharge by the Federal Network Agency as part of last year's August tender. From commissioning, the wind farm will benefit from Energiekontor's many years of operational management experience and optimization support.

"This transaction is now the second project sale this year, which is very pleasing. At the beginning of June 2025, we already sold a very attractive Scottish ready-to-build project, which will make an important contribution to earnings for the current 2025 financial year. Two additional transactions are also currently in the final stages. In addition, further sales negotiations are underway for various projects in Germany and abroad, which should be successfully concluded in the coming weeks and months," says Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG. "Apart from that, we are working consistently on the expansion of our Group-owned park portfolio, our second important pillar for regularly recurring income from our own renewable electricity generation."
