I work in an event company and I honestly don't know if I want to know more in order to invest...
I know the salaries of the lowest ranks of staff, I know the expense involved, especially for international stars.
I know the whining about "too expensive" concert tickets and even that makes me angry, because people don't know and don't see the effort behind it.
And I don't particularly like stores like Eventim, which have a massive influence on pricing policy.

•@Metis Thank you for the honest assessment - that's a valuable internal perspective that is easily underestimated from the outside. The enormous effort behind tours, logistics and personnel in particular remains invisible to many, which quickly distorts the perception of "too expensive" tickets.
I can well understand that you view the market from a certain distance as a result. For me, it was precisely this view from the outside that was interesting - not because I particularly like Eventim, but because the industry is economically highly complex and culturally influential despite all its downsides. An exciting but morally ambivalent terrain.

@Liebesspieler To a large extent, the very one-sided reporting about my employer also plays a big role in my perception.
Media debates about very high ticket prices for stars like Andrea Bocelli, but no mention whatsoever of our extremely affordable baby and children's concerts and our U30 program, where you can also get tickets at a very reduced price...
Or regular classical concerts by less well-known orchestras, which don't cost €30/40/50 per ticket, are not reported on either.
Well, I think I'm far too emotionally inclined to invest in this area, precisely because I'm far too close to it.
