Circle K expands charging network in Germany

The Circle K petrol station chain has expanded its charging network in Germany by six new locations with a total of 43 fast-charging points. At three of the new charging parks, the company is also offering charging options specifically for electric trucks for the first time in this country.

Just over two years ago, the Canadian convenience store company $ATD (-0,22%) Alimentation Couche-Tard with its Circle K brand took over the German filling station network and fuel card business from TotalEnergies. In December 2024, Circle K also took over the operation of the charging stations. However, this does not include the locations that are being set up as part of the Total Energies network.

Circle K now operates charging infrastructure at 95 locations with 400 charging points across Germany. In December alone, six new charging parks with a total of 43 fast-charging points were added, four of them in Bavaria.

Six HPC (High Power Charging) charging points for electric cars, each with up to 400 kW, were connected to the grid in Eckental, and eight charging points in this power class in Hohenlinden. In Illertissen, Circle K put six more fast charging points with up to 400 kW into operation, two of which are intended for electric trucks. The largest of the four new charging parks in Bavaria is located in Nordendorf and comprises eleven fast-charging points, including two for electric trucks.

Circle K has also expanded its charging network in other parts of Germany. Another new charging park with four fast-charging points, each with up to 400 kW, is located in Wittlich (Rhineland-Palatinate). The sixth fast-charging location was connected to the network in Laucha (Saxony-Anhalt). However, the total of eight new charging points there can only deliver up to 175 kW each. One of these fast-charging facilities is intended for e-trucks.

"With high-performance HPC charging stations and digital payment options, we are creating a charging experience that is geared towards the needs of our customers. Our ambition goes far beyond simply providing charging points. We want to actively shape the future of mobility and be among the top 4 in Germany by 2035 - as a synonym for innovation, reliability and sustainable energy. Our goal is not just to be a provider, but to be the preferred partner for all those who want to charge on the move and focus on quality and convenience," says Electrive Christian Howe, Managing Director of Circle K Germany.
