ASML overvalued?

I just liquidated my biggest portfolio position $ASML (+6,53%) , which was about 37.5% of my total invested amount.

I still think ASML is a phenomenal company, with strong growth potential in the future, but at this moment, according to my valuation models, it is quite overvalued.

What additionally worries me is the ASML share buyout program. There is a risk that they will buy out shares at too high prices, so it does not really reward shareholders.

I'm sure in the next half year there will be some opportunities to buy it once again at a much better valuation than it is at this moment.

That's why I decided to secure 62,5% gain on it and completely sell.

What do you think? Are you buying, selling, or just simply keeping it for the future?

I think it's a bit too soon to take profits here since the recent upgrade in target price to €1300 by Bernstein SocGen Group

That could be, you never know. For me it is ok to take profit a bit sooner, the more you wait the more the risks. If the price mentioned by you wouldn't be reached Q1 26, then it wouldn't be reached this half year in my opinion.

High valuation is not a reason to sell imho. And this move can easily continue to 1400-1500€. Why not sell part of it?

If the valuation is backed by company performance, and forward outlook, then I agree with you. For the upcoming 2-3 years, I predict there will be a lot of turbulence that will affect ASML business. I don't see it going to 1400-1500€ this year.

I sold some time ago too, but got in for €5-600 before it started to go up. I will also buy back lower again. I don’t think it’s overvalued now, i think its on the high end of the fair price, but I don’t think holding the shares will earn me 15%/year over the coming 3 years. Which is roughly my investing base. I used the money to buy other stocks

My average buy price was also around €600-625. On the valuation part we don't share same feeling, but with rest I totally agree :)

I plan to buy it later, when it will drop. For now I will reinvest part of the cash to other things, and the rest I will put to savings account to get some interest.
