Banco do Brasil

I would like to expand my South America theme and came across the bank $BDORY (+0,69%) bank. With my brokers only as ADR, no one has B3 access for $BBAS3

What do you think of the share?

Banco do Brasil is one of the largest and oldest financial institutions in Latin America, but it's controlled by the Federal Government, and under the current administration, it's doing very poorly. It's the main financier of agribusiness. The first-quarter results were significantly lower than expected. Wait for the next results, as they could fall further and be a great buy. This bank has been around for over 200 years. It's a good bank, and if Brazil's president changes next year, it will appreciate.

Banco do Brasil is indeed solid, but as Rimoldi mentioned, comes with risks due to its government ties + agribusiness sector not paying back to the bank as it should lately (mostly due to Brazil's insane 15% interest rates caused by uncontrolled spendings of current government administration).
Nevertheless, Brazilian banks ARE the most profitable banks in the world, and Itau Unibanco is the most solid one + it's private (in case you want to avoid public risks that come with BBAS3). Not financial advise, of course. Do study about it but it's definitely a strong LATAM investment in the financial sector.
