Let me put it this way: the problems that German European dealers have. Labor costs, lack of personnel, etc. The Asians don't solve them, plus the lack of a workshop network. If you are dependent on the car, buy one with service within a radius of 15 km.
Good luck and the competitors will stimulate business.

@Smudeo "the Asians"... really now?^^
It is a workshop network that does not "yet" exist. According to my bubble friends, services for sales partners are much better than those currently offered by DE manufacturers.
And Europe, with its increasing poverty, will gladly fall back on cheap cars - which BYD offers.

@Smudeo The workshop network is not needed in this way, and there are only a fraction of moving and complex parts in the cars.
BYD is sold in Asia for absolutely competitive prices and has great features (I was there 2 weeks ago).
Not yet worthwhile here due to customs duties etc. and above all due to our (green) electricity price... (unless you have PV)
Updates "over the air" etc. will also make the dense network of workshops superfluous here.
The backward-looking can continue to buy VW, but BYD will deliver is my prediction âď¸đ

@Tobiwankenobi500 @GeldGenie A very good morning to you. Since motor vehicles and automobiles are not your area of expertise. Here is some information. VW Volkswagen has approx. 1000 sales partners + car dealerships in Germany, yes VW is not a BYD based on the registrations in Germany, then Mercedes: 100 dealers + independent workshops that have qualified for Mercedes. Now to the example of BYD, if they register about half of Mercedes in Germany, you need about 50 workshops times 10 employees. Which trained mechanic and / or electrician will switch from an established dealer with social responsibility to a Chinese company? Spare parts availability, stock and scheduling should not be a foreign concept here either. Now let's move on to the electrical car less maintenance announcement.... Tires, brakes, joints, axles, chassis ? That's right, they are identical to the rest of the vehicles and that is wear and tear. Quality and safeguarding processes China vs. EU should probably not be a discussion, see relevant reports from ADAC, ĂAMTC, etc. Yes, everything is cheaper in Asia, including wages! If you don't like it here, the way is clear.

@Smudeo I don't even know where to start...
I think we just look at share prices and the growth and figures of the companies.

@Smudeo On the subject of spare parts, Mercedes currently needs over 4 weeks for various parts such as headlights B Class or various components for the heating until something is delivered.
