@Gehebeltes-EFH Yes, I’m aware of the downsides too. I simply can’t make a living off capital gains, and I also hold some very strong stocks like Apple, Broadcom, KLA, and ASML for their price and dividend growth. I’ll have to live off my portfolio later on, and selling stocks/shares is too risky and too expensive from a tax perspective. The Americans just don’t have that problem. In Germany, we have the FIFO principle, and selling when your ETF is up 500% is more expensive from a tax perspective than the dividend.
