Oh man, a test of courage for me.

@Marpo1 The world belongs to the brave. If you can't stand it, take a fixed-term deposit with your savings bank.

@Cato_Bamboo True, fixed-term deposits are boring for me. But is it worth the effort with Warren, why is the S&P500 performing so much better?

@Marpo1... this year? Look at the development of the last 20 years... I know, no guarantee for the future, but $BRK.B has beaten the index for decades.

In addition, the S&P500 is currently valued at a P/E ratio of just under 29. $BRK.B, on the other hand, has a P/E ratio of just under 11 ...

@Aktien-Investor Very good point, sometimes you lose the overview, thank you!

@Marpo1 Perhaps boring, but no risk. The question of why an S&P 500 performs better than a large number of individual stocks is obvious. Take a look at the weighting there and the current performance of the highest weighted individual stocks. Perhaps you should first look at the topic in general in order to better understand (or at least interpret) the market.

@Aktien-Investor Yes, that's right, I only started a year ago and am trying to understand the interrelationships and the individual companies and their markets. That's why I still need support. Complex topic. Thank you very much!

Tip for the future: buy 500 shares at €44. 😘

This can only be assessed in the context of the entire portfolio, your goals, expectations and other personal factors.

@Iwamoto Thanks, I know I've been adding German and European stocks to my American-heavy portfolio for six months now...

You shouldn't panic just because things aren't going up all the time. Fear and emotions are out of place here.

It wouldn't be the first company to go down the drain after the withdrawal of its figurehead. In my humble opinion, Buffet is just as important for confidence in $BRK.B as Musk is for $TSLA
No, $BRK.B is not threatened by bankruptcy and in the next 10+ years it could go up to 500 again. I always make such decisions at such moments by asking myself whether I can achieve a better return with other assets after realizing the losses than by sitting out. In my opinion, this is the only decisive question you need to ask yourself. Everything else is window dressing!

@Multibagger Absolutely right, that's exactly how I see it, I can agree with you on all points 🫡

@Multibagger I'm asking you! If it only goes to €500 in 10 years, I have zero return, I'll wait a while, I'm just irritated by Warren Buffett's negative statement

Berkshire is sitting on so much cash.
At the latest in the next bear market or crash, an enormous number of opportunities will open up.
The only question is whether Abel really has the same intuition as the young Buffet.

at the moment I only see a breather, the figures were just quite difficult, but you have to say for the next boss there is $ 350 billion ready to do something with. the Kraft Heinz thing was no surprise, but the share is holding up well.
