Macron is of course completely altruistic and wants to sell the Rafale.

@marda304 Off topic, because the Rafale is simply the best fighter aircraft manufactured in Europe.
Who doesn't want the best?

@RaphGM I'm sure the others say the same about their jets

@marda304 And that's exactly why there are experts and facts. And apparently the Rafale is not so bad (I can't judge that)

@marda304 Well, Rafale are the only EU jets that can carry nuclear bombs, and the jets are designed more for ground attacks than the Eurofighters. Saab are great jets, nice and cheap, but they don't come close to either of the two jets mentioned above. The EU will need a combination of all of them, each jet has its own advantages

@xgreenyflo exactly the nuclear capability the EF 2000 does not even have in the UK... I think it comes down to the fact that especially countries like DE will HAVE to buy some Rafale in order to continue to have protection via France in the absence of US weapons

@user80d5e5c1ee934da2 exactly. Poland is also already in hot talks with France about whether they can station nuclear weapons in Poland. Rafale will be needed then too. Other countries will follow
