And out. The aim was to sell at a price of over €300 and that worked. In the next crash, we will enter again in a big way.

You can't time the market, they say. Don't even try, just stick to the savings plan, is the mantra of the ETF savings plan providers.

You don't always have to do what others keep telling you to do... 😏

@Epi If I could time it, I would have sold everything in March this year and got back in at the end of April 😀

@Epi The holding period was up to three years. So it was more "time in the market" than "timing the market". And that always wins.

@Charmin Oh, I thought he got in during the Liberation Day crash! But time in the market doesn't always win - especially with leveraged ETFs. See the 3x Allworld ETF: $3VTE No progress since 2021.

Congratulations, how long was the holding period?

@BruceBullridge Established the first position on December 2022 and then bought 4 or 5 more times in 2023 and 2024

@MoneyGame Respect, did you feel anything of the path dependency over the holding period? Or were you indifferent to the top entries?
I'm asking because I've often thought about buying leveraged ETFs and holding them for longer than just a few days.

Path dependency is by no means such a dramatic thing. For one thing, path dependency not only has a negative downward effect when prices fall for a long time, but also a positive upward effect when prices rise for a long time. Path dependency only becomes a problem if it goes sideways for 10 years, but even then you can buy at lows and weaken the whole thing very well.
