🍑 vs. 🇨🇳 - this time it's about soybeans 🌱

Trump threatens China with economic consequences over soybean purchases - including a possible end to business in the cooking oil sector. That sounds like a new round in the trade conflict 🇺🇸🇨🇳

I am considering whether, in this context, agricultural players such as $ADM (+1,34%) (Archer Daniels Midland) or $BG (+1,08%) Bunge Global could become exciting - both tend to benefit from stronger US domestic production and fewer imports from China...

What do you think: pure speculation or strategic opportunity?

Ridiculous sabre-rattling before he sells himself as a dealmaker again and pulls out a mediocre to bad deal for America. Because unlike the rest of the world, China has at least as much leverage.

@jkb92 I always find it funny how bad his deals are labeled. What he has over us in Europe by far: he makes deals that are advantageous (no matter how strong or less strong) for his country sind🤷🏼‍♂️. Who sits in a glass house and so😂.

First of all, it would be this one: $BG 😉 Secondly, as far as I know, Bunge is one of the largest international distributors of staple foods (grain, corn, etc.). They are allowed to export pretty much anywhere in pretty much any political situation. Until recently, at any rate, they were one of a handful of suppliers that still delivered staple foods to Iran (via Switzerland as a detour, of course). To be honest, I believe that increased sales in the US are of little interest to Bunge at least, and in my view relatively irrelevant for them.
