Once again an update on my cashflow project.


For 4 days in Stuttgart, I was able to *cough* by the generous food allowance in Germany a $AFG (-0,39%) Share treat.

Tax-free income is invested 💪


In addition, I wanted to share with you gladly at the use:


I had 4 days of service there on an ultra-precision machine that is used to make laser mirrors out of copper, which $ASML (+0,57%) needs machines for its lithography.


Manufacturing tolerance on one mirror: 2 microns


To put this in perspective: The average human hair is 80µ thick, so you have to cut a hair 78 times to get 2µ.

@Hannes_SK The short version is: learned in toolmaking, then lateral entry in mechanical engineering at Krones, there 6 years of worldwide service and this March changed to the service of a small market leader in my area for (ultra) precision machines.

Ah, it's starting to make sense. I already knew about Krones from the podcast and from the work suit from the picture the other day. You probably work where my sister lives. At least that's where the headquarters are. So things are slowly coming full circle. 😂

You have to cut a hair 40 times to get to 2 micrometers if it is 80 thick. Or am I just lost.

@Chrisser171 yeah, that totally triggered me too 😃 You could say that the 80 micron hair is 40x as big. But with cutting it doesn't really fit unless you say you divide the hair into 40 equal sized strands.

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur The Dutch have developed the thinnest wire in the world, now they want to know if it really is the thinnest, so they send it to Austria. It takes 4 weeks, it comes back, a letter with it: "Wire is too thin, couldn't measure it!" Yes quite good but not sure yet. So they send it to France. 2 weeks later it comes back, again with a letter: "Wire is too thin, couldn't measure it!!!" The Dutch now want to know exactly and send the thinnest wire in the world to Germany! If it takes 1 day, there is a call from Germany, German engineer on the phone with a simple question: "Greetings from the Ländle, should we cut a thread on it or drill a hole?"
