Since clean energy ETFs are very popular in our community, I wanted to dig a little deeper into this area and see how much interest there would be in a solar company ETF.

I always thought solar was too expensive and inefficient to make it interesting as an investment. However, in recent years the economics have improved massively (thanks to better technology and also government subsidies). Considering that solar radiation is only increasing overall (except for us here in Germany, of course), I'm starting to look into it more closely.

Invesco's latest ETF has a full 48 companies in it, with a good mix of utilities, cell manufacturers, to players that people tend to forget about but play an important role like maintenance services or still monitoring systems.

Solar has a strong future ahead of it and seeing that a 'solar rooftop obligation' is now coming under the new government, now is still a super time to get in!

the topic is THE FUTURE TREND and is also politically extremely demanded and promoted (I say only SOLAR ROOF DUTY!). For me, one of the topics that really make sense in the next few years...

Solar energy has impressive growth potential: according to forecasts, solar spending will reach 3.4 trillion US dollars by 2040 and solar energy will account for 35% of all newly installed power generation systems worldwide (Bloomberg New Energy Finance). Photovoltaics will generate 25% of all electricity worldwide by 2050, compared to 2% today (BNEF).
Cost-effective electricity solution - The cost of electricity from solar energy has already fallen by 83% since 2010 (Lazard), due to dramatic technological advances and economies of scale. By 2050, the cost of solar energy will fall by a further 71% (BNEF), making it by far the cheapest source of electricity.
